Oh, If THIS works ?!

December 03rd, 2003 | Category: Middle East

Home-grown defences are always best. Here’s hoping that this proposal gets full backing, so the Iraqis, themselves, are permitted to go to work catching those who would destroy their own country.

Just a wee tad upset, he is……..

December 03rd, 2003 | Category: Crazy Government Stuff

Paul Jan is normally a quite rational, thoughtful commentator. On occasion, though, he will go on a bit of a tear, as can be seen here and here. The topic du jour is his own country, about which he is most passionate, and it shows.

Mature Aussie alert

December 03rd, 2003 | Category: Bloody insane stuff

Tim Blair says that some Aussies are so bitter about the Rugby World Cup loss they are planning to fix the BBC Sportsman of the Year competition. How truly pathetic.

New Bonfire, Blog Award results, and CoV

December 03rd, 2003 | Category: Blog gos

The latest collection of Bonfire lameness awaits your pleasure.

And over at RWN, there is the first of what may prove to be many, weblog awards.

I sent in a post to CoV this week and it seems it was left out. I hope this is not another example of a Carnival host censoring submissions. And yes, it was sent in a timely manner.

Update: I have confirmed by email with Greg, that it was merely an oversight. That teaches me to make any assumptions right after I get up!

Truth In Motives!

December 03rd, 2003 | Category: Crazy Government Stuff

Mr. Healy has seen through the Smoke Screen, and the motives are envy. spite, and tyrannical rule. Not for anyone’s protection, as rules ought to be, but totally for exacting social revenge on those whom they envy for having the temerity to enjoy a wee bit of life. Those psuedo-humans have not a clue about living real lives, so they must deprive all other folk of a single chance to live a little. The Bloomberg Nanny-State is spreading like a wild fungus running amok.

Bash pics, now with snide remarks!

December 03rd, 2003 | Category: Gratuitous plugs

More of Saturday night’s antics at Perry’s house.

...And I want a Moog and a Harpsichord and a Hammond P3, plus my keyboard all on the left side of the stage! In bigger venues, I want a black baby grand piano…

Marty listens as he hears Growing Old Disgracefully’s royalties being sucked away by the purchases of the band’s pianist, John.

Perry practices his hard rock grimace in preparation for his backstage antics on G.o.D.’s next tour.

Muslim Cleric interviewed by Israpundit

December 03rd, 2003 | Category: ROPMA

There is a dash of good news, in the light of recent arrests of radicals here in the UK, Israpundit has posted an interview with Prof Abdul Hadi Palazz, a Muslim cleric who not only condemns violence but supports Israel. I bet the man has some good security round him.

Sympathy For The Devil

December 03rd, 2003 | Category: Drugs

Am finally wrapping up a project that took much longer than I anticipated, so I should soon be able to get back to my true calling, of composing long, whingeing posts complaining that I can’t think of anything to blog about.

I can’t help it — it’s like . . . a vocation or something.

In the meantime, for your reading pleasure, I present the estimable Natalie Solent:

Empathy is the thing in schools history these days. You get the kids to think their way in to what it was really, truly like to be a fourteenth century Bohemian swineherd and feel their pain. Empathising with groups neglected and derided by the “Kings ‘N’ Battles” school of history is particularly favoured.

As part of my personal commitment to this school of thought, I’d like to bring up for public view the sufferings of a marginalised and stigmatised group. Slaveowners. Ever thought about their problems, huh? You probably think a person who can legally demand the unlimited services of another human has everything he wants. But you’d be wrong.

Fear not; the saucy little minx is merely being provocative.
