Teresa May has given an interview to the Times where she whinges for her sex. This vomit inducing interview includes a strident defense of CCO.
It is grossly unfair. Central Office constantly gets attacked when things go wrong and is perceived as the bad guy, whatever happens. It has really good staff who must feel very sad reading things in the papers based on whispered conversations
Ah poor CCO, obviously we now know that they are the victim in all of this. It was not senior staff that were briefing any press they could find at Conf about the fact IDS was “toast”. It isn’t CCO that have repeatedly rude to their biggest donors and not taken their calls. And, of course, no member of CCO ever briefs against any member of the party or tries to blackball anyone.

May is mainly good news, but she does share the modern Tory petit bourgeois distrust of the great unwashed. Unless Tories rediscover their populist appeal they will remain on the shelf, addicted only to losing.
He refers to her as a back-up singer. Surely the whole point of being a back-up singer is for them to sing in tune with the lead?
