How to spoil a nice meal……..
€uro-weenies, €uro-weasels, €uro-whatevers; they all are the most dangerous, duplicitous, arrogant, yet pathetic creatures seen in many years, and they are proliferating like flies at a tip.
Arriving late at an engagement in the U.S., they managed to insult, demean, dismiss, and otherwise behave like children wrecking a party meant for grown-ups. Their hosts were not pleased but refrained from responding to this display of arrogance, merely questioning with logic, which the invited guests avoided answering by launching into off-topic pronouncements.
The only small item of this unfortunate debacle which caused smiles amongst many was the departure scene at the airport.

If it was, it worked. More the shame really.
Kim has responded to his critics. Mostly by insulting us and making broad generalisations. Its not a rebuttal as a restatement and vent at those who disagree with him. It is slightly better written than first one, but is just as borish.
At least he has the decency to thank all of us who waded through his murky bile (in my case twice). John over at RWN can’t seem to understand why I (and many others) didn’t like Kim’s post.

Re: Spooky ceasefire
Date: 10 November 2003
Sir – With the apparent outbreak of peace in the ranks of the Conservative Party occurring this All-Hallow’s-tide, perhaps one may be forgiven the somewhat superstitious thought that they were cursed with 13 years’ bad luck for their matricide of November 1990.

EURO INSULT: KILTS ARE FOR GIRLS Nov 10 2003
They’re branded womenswear
By Amy Devine
EUROCRATS have ruled that the kilt is ``womenswear’’.
Spaniard Pedro Solbes, an EU commissioner, insists our national dress should be listed asa skirt on official forms.
And kiltmakers could be fined up to £1000 if they don’t comply.
There was a furious reaction from kilt wearers last night. Movie legend Sir Sean
Connery said: ``If this is the case, I have been wearing a woman’s skirt for
more than 45 years now.
``I own several and I find them very comfortable.
``Joking apart, I am very proud to wear a kilt. It is certainly not womenswear.
It is an important part of Scots tradition and also smart evening wear.’‘
EU Con exposed
PRESS RELEASE from Bruges Group
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Monday 10th November 2003
EXPOSING THE EU CONSTITUTION
Subsidiarity and the Illusion of Democratic Control
by John Bercow MP for
The third of the Bruges Group’s papers on the draft EU Constitution studies the cloak of subsidiarity – the Eurospeak term – used to disguise the ever-increasing arrogation of powers to the institutions of the European Union. John Bercow, a long-standing critic of European integration and associate of the Bruges Group, seeks to analyse the history of subsidiarity and rebut the claim that the EU Constitution safeguards the role of national Parliaments. He also provides further evidence that the Constitution does not define the limitations and extent of EU power and that it is not just another power grab. According to John Bercow it also enables the EU to further expand its power to unprecedented and virtually limitless proportions. In short, the EU Constitution will accelerate the EU’s legislative imperialism.

This post shows a prediction of the election occurring in November 2003. It is based upon previous elections, both Assembly and Parliamentary. Since 2001, there has been a further swing in voter identification – on the unionist side towards DUP, on the nationalist/republican side towards Sinn Fein/IRA. These predictions are not exaggerated because I am a former member of the DUP, but because this is how I believe things are going to pan out.
The one unknown is how some of the ‘others’ may fare – e.g. some sitting former UK Unionist Party members may lose their seats to DUP as voters switch to DUP to give DUP the largest share of Assembly seats? This is an unknown – but may boost the DUP’s number of seats further (and may offset any cases where they don’t gain where I predict they will). See ‘who are’ column – PUP / UKUP could lose seats – as could APNI (NI Lib Dems).

Read more 1 commentA Possible Open Convention
Gephardt has surged to the lead in Iowa. This presents a rather interesting possibility, that of an open convention.
If Gephardt won the Midwest, Kerry and Dean win the NE and the West, and Lieberman, Clark, and Edwards running strong in the South, there could be no candidate with a majority of delegates. What would this mean? Well, the nominee could be decided at the convention, which last happened with the Vice-Presidential nod in the 1956 Democratic Convention (JFK lost out then). This becomes an even more distinct possibility since primaries don’t operate on a winner-take-all delegate system, but rather proportional representation. All and all this creates a situation which would highlight the divisions in the Democratic party, not exactly what needs to be done to unseat Bush.
