Jews and the Democrats

November 01st, 2003 | Category: Politics

Bryan seems to think that the Democrats are in big trouble in the US. I believe that the Jewish vote for the Democrats will drop by 1/3 in the next election cycle.

Shameless!

Now this is just pathetic. Matthew Stinson (formerly known as A Fearful Symmetry — no wonder he changed his name) is attempting to draw traffic with gratuitous references to Britney Spears, Kobe Bryant, Anna Kournikova. etc.

Whereas I try to boost the number of visitors here the old-fashioned way — with hard work, good writing, and the threat of deadly force.

When someone says “blog,” I reach for my revolver.

Galloway defends himself…

It is a misunderstanding created by circumstances that I am interested only in Middle Eastern affairs – notably, the struggle for self determination of the Palestinian people and against the horrific effects of sanctions and war on the Iraqi people during Saddam’s vile dictatorship.

I have been , of course, passionately engaged in these issues but my interest in opposing all forms of imperialism – including the fashionable neo-liberal version of Mr. Blair – arises from a deep patriotism about my own islands.

Haven’t any of the staff seen Kill Bill?

November 01st, 2003 | Category: Nutty stuff

From: This is True

A passenger on a Southwest Airlines flight from Oakland, Calif., to Chicago, Ill., opened a violin case in flight and pulled out a martial arts weapon. He didn’t hurt anyone, but the pilot called ahead to Midway Airport to report the weapon. “Officers were waiting for him at the gate, but the passenger tried to bolt,” said a Chicago police spokesman. “He was acting strangely and started resisting,” but was arrested. “Didn’t the screeners in Oakland ever see any of the movies about Chicago gangsters in the 1930s?” asked airline consultant Michael Boyd. “Wasn’t it guns they carried in violin cases?” But Transportation Security Administration officials defended the Oakland screeners. “We know the limitations of passenger screening,” a TSA spokesman said, “which is why we’ve got a multi-layered system in place.” (Chicago Tribune, Chicago Sun-Times) ...Translation: every layer in the system failed.

Real comments from on the ground in Iraq……..

November 01st, 2003 | Category: Middle East

The gentleman writing the Cone Zone, one of Chief Wiggles’ compatriots, is in daily contact with all kinds of Iraqis who speak to him with a candor and honesty beyond anyone’s expectations. He has seen fit to share some of his thoughts about this fact.

An early entry:

Please, if I am willing to be here, than as a public stay the course. Dont be swayed by biased reporting. I am finding out every day from those effected, that Saddams regime will be remembered in the history books as being worse than Hitler, or Stalin(more and more facts to support this are emerging daily).
And this, from the 31st of October:
To answer another reader. Day after day I am told by the Iraqis that the U.S. is way too timid and soft in dealing with those who are attacking our troops. In our efforts to be P.C. we have shown ourselves as weak, easy targets, who because of our own policies governing our soldiers that we put our boys, and the future peace in this country in jeopardy (they also give me a lot more explicit and graphic measures we should take in dealing with anti-coalition groups, and while effective, and appealing to me personally, I dont ever see the U.S. adopting these tactics)

Wise words of wisdom that we should ALL take to heart.
