It’s not just the French who are wankers
It seems the German media has a total lack of decency as well. And for good measure, some arsehat manages to use the ole’ “Bush stole the election” line in the comments section. What a tosser.
Damian reports that an article in Der Spiegel does its best to fisk the conspiracy loons. So not all Germans have gone off the deep end in their anti-Americanism.

USA Today is reporting that over 100 black cabs have been ordered by US livery firms.
Now all they have to do is get some cabbies in NYC and DC that have a basic grasp of the English language.
Wonder if the cabs come with a free subscription to The Sun?

The Republican enthusiasm for Arnold was initially based on his star power. It was nice, for a change, to see a Hollywood entity throw in with the GOP for once instead of barking mindlessly at it with the usual combination of vacuous accusations and cretinous insults. But his real support stemmed from his presumed electability …. The problem is that the concept of electability is a massive crock of fumet. The Bush administration is demonstrating this truth in real- time, as its compassionate big-government neo-conservatism expands the federal leviathan at a pace faster than anyone since FDR. Would President Gore have been worse?”(09/15/03)

Dean has written a long piece on his experience with racism while growing up in Chicago. Oh, and he says Detroit is even worse in that respect.

Re: Swedes have got it right

Sir – As expected, the BBC has excelled itself over the past 48 hours in its coverage of the Swedish euro referendum (News, Sep 15). Seldom has there been such a display of pro-Europe bias.
With one exception since only Sunday evening, every BBC commentator I’ve heard or watched has described the No majority as being, in Steven Sackur’s words, “an eclectic rag-bag of far-Left, Green and conservative voters”. Like most of his colleagues, he is depicting virtually 60 per cent of adult Swedes as either extremist or idiotic.
Anyone with the slightest knowledge of Swedes will know they are an educated, sophisticated, politically aware and intelligent people, living in a refined and advanced culture, with a financial system the envy of all those unfortunate enough to live in the mess that comprises the economies of the euro-zone. The Swedes have got it right.

They do take criticism well, do they?
Paul reports that Muslims are getting their towels in a twist over a forthcoming book. What sin has the author committed, you ask?
Ms. Manji said her book denounces terrorism, the poor treatment of women and ‘’Jew-bashing’’ while promoting tolerance and human rights. In it, she urges an Islamic reformation that begins in the West.
Yeah, I can see why they might be upset. I mean, I thought Islam was a religion of peace.
Surely the idiots getting mad at her are just proving her point? At least she is going to be a useful means of finding all the islamo-loons in Canada.

The California recall has been postponed to a more convenient time for the Democrats. Let’s hope the Supreme Court looks at it and overturns this bit of partisan Judicial rubbish.
