Plot to take out Blair?

July 20th, 2003 | Category: UK Politics

Harry has written a fascinating insight into the plots there are to take down Tony Blair. He is really not impressed with any of them. The scary thing is that the proudest achievement of many on the Left is that they “kept the Tories out”.

How NOT to run a country, Part Umpteeumpt!!

July 20th, 2003 | Category: UK Politics

Ordinarily your correspondent would have links to pertinent items; in this case there would be so many the post would occupy more than one full page of the blog just listing the best ones! Just to set the tone, though, here are two or three that creep around the edges with some tantalizing details, but not a lot of REAL substance, mostly speculation.

Let’s start with the beeb, who started the whole mess, anyway, with their charge of ‘sexing up’ the reasons for going to war. Their continuous and ongoing attacks on the government’s ‘going to war’ against the beeb’s advice and consent has permitted all the yappers and whiners to spout, unfettered on their airwaves, with nary a thought to fairness. Denial of bias being their proclaimed essence, they wouldn’t recognize bias if it bit them. Perhaps now, though, they do sense a certin nipping at their heels; one certainly hopes so.

Then there are the reports from other sources, all with political points of view, very busy making political points. The ginning up of politics, politics, politics at the expense of this gentleman is the proximate cause of this terrible tragedy. Dr. Kelley had been used as a political pawn right from the start. Being pilloried in the press was beyond his personal capacity to handle.

All this comes under the heading of politics, government, and the media contributing to how not to run a country!

What a shock?

July 20th, 2003 | Category: The French

The allleged mastermind behind the attacks in Morocco was a middle-class Frenchman who converted to Islam. Well, certainly he would have no problem with Al Queda’s blatant anti-semitism. Let’s hope the Moroccans aren’t as wimpish about executing this bastard as the French would be. Oh yes, and he is also alleged to have ordered one of his minions to go blow up a French nuclear power station too.
