A few facts…useful spam…

July 17th, 2003 | Category: Nutty stuff

A dime has 118 ridges around the edge. (Check your dimes carefully:
More ridges or less means counterfeit !!! )

A cat has 32 muscles in each ear. (...and still won’t do what you tell
it).

A crocodile cannot stick its tongue out. (Or simply has better
manners).

A dragonfly has a life span of 24 hours. (Some people live as if this
were true of them).

Sexy female robots?

July 17th, 2003 | Category: Nutty stuff

Gnotelex is not impressed with the adverts for Terminator 3. She asks: why bother sexing a robot? The reason for the inclusion in the T3 is for the “boob factor”. They want the same tosers who like Tomb Raider, Bloodrayne, and anime like Bubblegum Factor to go.

Actually, technically speaking, none of the bots in the Terminator movies are robots but are androids.

Writers wanted

July 17th, 2003 | Category: Announcements

Do you or anyone you know want a home for your ramblings? Dodgeblogium is looking to develop a “stable” of contributors. We are happy for old bloggers or new ones. If you are interested in writing for us, comment below and I will get back to you.

We are especially interested in current bloggers who are looking to have an “alt” personality to vent under. Extreme or bleeding-edge thoughts are fine, as long as you keep the swearing to a minimum. (Despite what some bloggers believe, I don’t think a lot of expletives makes you look clever or particularily bright.)

In short: Dodgeblogium wants you!

Ungrateful wench

July 17th, 2003 | Category: UK Politics

“I think it’s hilarious that anyone should think that I would want to support the Conservative Party,” sniffs Lane -Fox. “Politically, I’m definitely orientated towards the Left, so I vote for Labour. Admittedly Labour are hardly Left, but with politics you always have to make compromises.

Its rather annoying to hear this when you realise if it weren’t for Lady T and the Tories there would be little or no chance she would have been able to open up her business. Before Thatcher came to power entrepenuer-ship was a rare thing, indeed. And who pray tell, deregulated the airline industry allowing for more competition? Oh, it was those awful Tories too. I could sort of understand if she were Blairite, but to have declare herself to be “left” is just too ludicrous for words.

The enemy of my enemy…

July 17th, 2003 | Category: The French

This from the Rational Review.

Extreme-right and neo-Nazi groups in France have formed an anti-Arab and anti-Muslim alliance on the internet with extremist Jewish groups, a report published yesterday said. Since the French far right is known for its visceral anti-Semitism, the alliance has puzzled and disturbed anti-racism campaigners and mainstream Jewish organisations.” (07/17/03)

Maybe the Far Right in France, has realised that the real threat to all they hold dear is not the Jews (and never has been) but is from the hordes of Islamists who are trying turn the country into an Islamic Republic. To most of the left, being at all proud of being a Jew or keen on Israel makes you a Nazi. Jewish extremists no doubt think they have nothing to lose. Extremes times lead to extreme measures.

July 17th, 2003 | Category: Technology

Just a day after the US Department of Homeland Security announced a five-year, $US90 million ($A137.51 million) contract with Microsoft, the company has released details of three more vulnerabilities in its products, with one being a critical vulnerability in some versions of the Windows operating system. The vulnerability affects NT 4.0, NT 4.0 Terminal Services Edition, Windows 2000, Windows XP and Windows Server 2003. It allows an attacker to gain complete control over a remote computer.” (07/17/03)
