Pejman has written this column on the role of political affiliation in blogging for TCS. He makes some very good points on the level of co-operation that exists between libertarians and conservatives online. This is very different from what occurs in “real space”, where the two groups spend way too much time and energy sniping at each other, posturing and posing, rather than co-operating on issues they agree on. Like the battle between modernisers and traditionals in the Tory Party; in many cases it is more about the means to the end rather than the end result. Maybe offline libertarians and conservatives can finally put their squabbles behind them and work against the real opposition: socialists.

The time has come to quit waltzing around making nice.
The world has been rudely awakened to the harsh reality that there is evil about which must be destroyed before it destroys us and all we hold dear. No more shilly-shallying! There is no more time. To this end, Eric Raymond has posted a powerful piece that needs to be widely circulated and widely signed. We at this blog reccommend that you give this manifesto* your support.
Eric is saying what needs to be said. We encourage all bloggers to link to this excellent piece of writing. If there were ever a more worthy thing to blog-burst I cannot think of it. Well done, Eric.
