Wind Rider reports on links between Bin Liner and the scum that blew up a whole lot of people in Bali. The Silent Running/War Now! lot are a few of the Anglosphere types on the other side of the world who are like the ones I wrote about below. VodkaPundit also weighs in with his usual style of capturing the essence. As you would expect the Samizdata team have also given their thoughts on this terrible event. With the death toll of Australians in the Bali bombings, maybe some of the self-righteousness coming from many Australians will cease. Maybe the “they got what was coming to them” meme will cease. After all, those killed were in a Muslim country breaking their religious laws…that was “asking for it”, right? It is possible that, instead of being smug about Poms getting killed for their “imperialism”, they might realise that, in the eyes of the terrorists, they, the Australians, are as much a part of “Western hegemony” as the UK or the US is. We shall all watch and see.

It seems that Conservative F***-ups, or CFUK, are continuing to live up to their reputation. A “senior” male member got arrested on the last night of the Conference, no doubt peeved that the attrocious disco planned for the evening was closed down. This followed the arrest of another young male on Monday night. What is really bad is some members have been accused of “singing racist songs” on a recent outing. And they shut down the YCs for what reason? We never did anything that bad; we were just perceived to have been bad. (Oh, wow, a Scotsman lifted his kilt…whoopee!) Our parties were better, we actually discussed policy, and we had a better range of people. The Tory Party has a serious problem when it comes to the under 40s; CF is doing it no favours. CF needs to revert to just an organisation for students and recent grads; there really needs to be something new for the 24-40 set.
