One of the best fringe meetings of the Tory Party Conference was sponsored by the Daily Telegraph. It will not shock you to know that they reported on their meeting. Alas, the author of the piece didn’t feel the need to report the identity of the questioner who mentioned “responsibility.” I can reveal to all and sundry that I am the one who asked the question. The rather interesting thing is that I managed to get all four of the panelists to agree with me. It was a great meeting that showed that there are still people in the Tory Party who care about freedom and giving liberty back to individuals.

I survived Tory Party Conference for another year. This time I managed to come back without a cold or being totally exhausted. Learned that the best policy is to get at least 5 hours of sleep a night and to steal a few hours’ nap in the middle of the afternoon in between fringe meetings. Knowing when to call it a night is good as well. Another key to these sorts of things is knowing to have fun and not take things too seriously. It is such a shame when a good night in the Conference hotel bar is ruined by self-important twits getting into a cat-fight over petty matters.
