Does anyone in the UK have a copy of Sunday’s Observer? Please! I seem to have gotten my mug in some shot or other in the paper. Well, here at Conf, and, it seems, posting in my sleep. I was not the one who sent the post in last night. I was too busy working hard on getting the poop on the Tory Party. Doing my best to get the skinny on what is going to go down here. Had the pleasure of meeting Michael Shrimpton, a notorious solicitor, who has worked with the Metric Martyrs amoungst others. He was in a most jovial and generous mood; I suspect that we will be meeting again this evening.
The inclusiveness of the party was on display last night in the hotel bar, with lots of people “expressing” their lifestyles in a more open way than I had ever seen. For my leather-interested fans, there were several ladies in leather trousers, very daring for the Tory Party. I wore mine last year and caused quite a stir, so I plan to wear them tonight as I got several queries why I was not so clad last night. It was the most crowded I have ever seen for a Sunday night before conference. Amazingly enough, the weather is lovely; well, it’s not raining, which makes life a lot easier on all the participants here.
One last question. If Conservative Mainstream, the Tory Reform Group, and the European Movement wish to spread their message; how come all their events are by invite only? What exactly do they have to hide that they don’t want “walk-ins”? So much for inclusiveness.
Well, it is back to the grindstone, as fringe events begin in 45 minutes. I have to go off and lig…er I mean research for the several articles I am suppose to write. First I am going to the Conservative Future chill-out room for a toke on the hooka.
One wonders why the Tory Party could not see fit to provide computers and a connection for the press people not willing to lug their laptops here. Oh, well, at least I can use this nice fast pipe thanks to the good people at NTL: home. Until my next missive I will leave you in the capable hands of MommaBear. Look to see a LCSM start posting to the blog.
