My friend John O’Sullivan does his own preview of Conservative Party Conference in Prospect Magazine this month. As always, with John’s stuff, it is both witty and clever. An informative read, to be sure.

Mark Steyn has figured out why Saddam invaded Kuwait. It is his belief that Saddam invaded his neighbor because he was unable to invade the slu…er, I mean, Edwina Currie. Had he been been able to drive across her desert to her main city, we would not be preparing for war now.

Mike, over at Cold Fury, has posted a hilarious piece on the skullduggery & whingeing happening in New Jersey. I do take extreme exception to his portraying Al Gore as Beezelbub. There is no way the “Lord of the Flies” is as boring as Al “Snore” Gore.
Surely Al Gore is more than closely related to a “Deep One” with his gormless bug-eyed stare and passionate hatred of the internal combustion engine? You know the real reason they had to bring Ms Wolf when he rang for President was to figure out how to cover the gills growing on his neck. (Turtlenecks anyone?) The reason his wife Tipper is so against heavy metal music is that it would prevent “young people” from hearing the influence of Cthulhu on their dreams. The PMRC was merely yet another front for a cadre of Cthulhu’s minions trying to silence anything that might distract from his messages. Heavy metal distracted coastal youths from their true task of working to raise Cthulhu; instead they were thinking about sex, drugs, and rock & roll.

Andrew was led by the lovely Sasha to a site describing a rather disturbing series of action taken by the Canadian government’s customs bureaucracy, most belatedly rectified. Dodgeblogium may be a wee bit late in discovering this excellent site, Light of Reason, which has been duly added to the BlogRoll, but, better late than never. Read for your own discomfort !!
