One year later, and the rest of the world has turned schizoid in its� perception of America�s struggle thus far. Are we vengeful killers of thousands of innocent Afghanis or a sober, wise superpower? If the Mirror is a microcosm of English thought � doubtful, I know � then the conflict continues. Personally, I�m with the sober, wise superpower group. Andrew, I wish I could share that bottle of wine and introspection with you. We had our moment of silence at 2:45 p.m. at the moment that the U.S. observed theirs. Being so far from home makes it all more surreal, although the scare in Heidelberg on Friday has put us all on edge. I�m saying a prayer for the fallen and asking for protection for all of us.
