Today is a day of many memories; a one-year memorial, a day to reflect. Bracketed as it is in the 10-day period of reflection and mourning of the Jewish High Holidays, how fitting in all ways!
But it should also be a celebration of LIFE, today. We live free because we not only remember the dead, how they died, and at whose hands, but we do not let the memory of them and how they died paralyze us into submission to terror.
We are determined to use those memories as vindication of our righteous pursuit of freedom from terror, using any and all means at our disposal. Those who would nay-say should just be quiet and keep out of the way. We will honor those who died, not only by our words but by our actions; our actions will speak louder than words and accomplish much.
