A Tentative Smile From The Den….....
At last, some common sense !!
This declaration, from one who understands far better than most, is heartening news, although the odds are very much against it getting any further recognition. What a pity; this kind of support for the concept of neutralizing any credible threat is sorely needed, but will probably be dismissed out of hand because it counters the pronouncements of those “cognescenti, chattering heads, and bleating blithering idiots” who are the darlings of the journalistic left.

Last night I attended an excellent discussion on e-politics. The event was hosted by James Crabtree of Vox Politics. In a rather amusing twist, discussion of on-line voting was banished to the pub afterwards. Our host feared an anal techy discussion on the possibilities of it ever being secure. Once at the pub, it became obvious that, of those in the technical know, no one thought it would ever be secure.
Despite a more left tinge to most in attendance, barring a few points, most of what was said was sensible and useful. I was allowed to respond to a point (after already speaking) in response to the idea of forcing people on-line into “empowerment groups” based on ethnicity, sex, etc. I responded this was not necessary and probably unhelpful as the essence of the internet is that people do group themselves without the need for government or pressure group meddling.
