Metalheads and rockers don’t give a shit about orientation according to Andrew Sullivan. I would agree. I never quite understood why the left/gay flag-waver types always called hard rock & heavy metal homophobic, sexist, and racist. Well, I tell a lie; the reason they hated us is because most rock fans are white; we don’t give a shit about trendy-leftie issues. We were more interested in getting drunk/stoned, getting laid, and head-banging than bleating on about whatever bothered the “with-it crowd.”
NB: There have been many blacks in rock/metal: Hendrix, the band Living Colour, much of the Colorcode, Doug Pinnick, lead singer of the awesome Kings X, etc., etc.
Homosexual rockers: Joan Jett, Rob Halford, Ray Gillen, and Robbin Crosby (both of whom died of AIDS). Plus many who don’t go on about it. (Another big no-no in the leftie world; look at the shit poor Freddie Mercury got for not telling the world he had AIDS and being a flag-waver for the cause.)
There have been loads of females in hard rock/metal bands including: Joan Jett, the Runaways, Girlschool, Tura Satana, Manhole, Vixen, Lita Ford, Phantom Blue, Garbage, Therion, Motley Crue.

The European Union ripping off everyone to the tune of �50 a head? Surely you jest! Not according to Shifty Fifty. Oh yes, and the same people who are makings teets of themselves on Jo’burg are the self-same ones helping their EU based farmers make it uncompetitive for third world farmers via the CAP. A very good cause, and one that should be supported. It a case of giving the farmers round the world a hand up and not a hand out.

It seems that not all actors are either mawkish oafs or blitheringly idiotic lefties. Rupert Everett breaks the mold as he talks sense in this quote from today’s Peterborough.
Chiselled actor Rupert Everett is less than impressed by many of his Hollywood counterparts. Everett, who stars in the new film version of The Importance of Being Earnest, explains how he took exception to the outpouring of grief publicly displayed by celebrities in the wake of September 11.
“It enables them to have one moment luxuriating in the guilt about how they’ve ripped off the world for the last how-many years,” he tells Eve magazine. He adds: “I get very short-tempered with actors. When actors talk about themselves as artists, I find it ridiculous. Actors are artisans, if anything, and showgirls for the most part.”
