David Kelly has written an excellent piece on Spiked. The War against Modernity states that it is not Christianity or the West that the Islamists are attacking but the modern world in toto. This is not a continuation of the age-old Islam vs Christiniaty battle for supremacy but a modern invention.
One has to wonder, if these Islamists were allowed to see films whether or not they would find the world depicted in the Mad Max series of films to their liking. Is Mad Max to an Islamic fanatic akin to Blade Runner to an anarcho capitalist?
