Very interesting piece on Foreign Aid by someone who has been there. As I have said, both on this blog and in others’ comments sections, most of it is a waste of money and this piece reinforces my attitude. I think Hernando de Soto has the right ideas on how to help the third world. He believes one needs to educate them in the basics of how to get things working and let them get on with it.
