A F***ing Scream From The Den….....
MommaBear seldom ventures into the category of politics/government, BUT, Editor be damned, and Andrew’s nose getting out of joint, she can keep still no longer!
Listening to a local ‘news’-cast [passed through a PC filter ], she heard of more ‘confiscations’ in the name of ‘security’ from people attending the 4th of July concert on the Esplanade in Boston. Now this is a group of citizens which has NEVER had a reputation for anything but totally civilised behavior over the 25+++ year history of these concerts. They will only permit plastic knives and forks; they limited what people could take on the grounds for protection even against temperatures in the mid to high 90’s; they searched a lot of them.
The total absurdity of the regulations leads to just one conclusion: the government has decided to treat its citizens as though they all belonged in prison! No longer can we be trusted; we must ALL have evil intent, according to them. Even the blimp has been banned; tell me they couldn’t have licensed it and checked it out for security. With the complicity of the poplular media, those in positions of power have taken the easy, lazy way out by treating eveyone as dangerous; they wouldn’t recognize a terrorist if they fell over one! The procedures they have put in place have been designed to conform to PC rules, not to accomplish anything useful. Banning profiling was the single biggest PC error in the world. We are in just as much danger as we were before 11 September, if not more, from their stupid, totally ineffective, punitive, and, above all, pathetic substitutes for real security work.
If this is what the 4th of July has descended to, this country is in BAD SHAPE and we don’t even know it because we’ve been bamboozled, misled, blathered to, had a siren-song sung to, and subjected to all the other tricks to which those professional politicians have become so addicted in their drive to enslave us all like sheep to slaughter. We should be preparing for a funeral this time next year unless things change dramatically before then…as our bretheren the Jews would say…gather a Minyon to sit Shiva to say Kadish for our fallen once-proud country.

Norwegian Blogger is upset that no one seems to be flaming him. This is waylaying his valiant attempts to become the “Jerry Springer of Norway”. I think what he needs to do is get drunk and/or stoned and then write. No doubt some of the things he writes will produce lots of swearing and name-calling. He will probably write shorter posts as well and won’t bother to do any research, either. He produces some thought-provoking stuff, so head over there and check him out. Someone needs to tell him that if he wants comments or flames he needs a damn comment section!

Virginia Postrell writes about a new book that actually PRAISES violence in video games. The book Killing Monsters explains why it’s healthy for children to confront their fears in a fantasy setting and smite them. I will be buying this book soon. Expect it to be slaughtered by PC types in the up-coming months. I would rather doubt this lot will take it kindly when told that by preventing their children from encountering conflict and violence it is actually hurting thier emotional development rather than helping them. The author will be in the Palms of every single game company’s PR wonks as well.

~What does Hitler have to do with the Euro? The answer, as Boris Johnson quite rightly points out, is everything.
Boris is countering the blithering tut-tutting eminating from the gobs of the Federasts in the UK. The pro-� types have produced a cinema in which Rik Mayal (Young Ones) dressed as Hitler praises the Euro. He states: “ein Volk, ein Reich, ein Euro”.

War Now! adds his voice to those calling for the pro-Euro weenies to grow up and get over it. He agrees with the 3rd (or is that 4th?) Reich analogy as well.

MommaBear is forced to admit out loud to a hitherto secret vice…she, along with PoppaBear [ a redneck bear from Tennessee ], is a real devotee of Winston Cup racing. MommaBear’s blogmate, Andrew, knowing of her little addiction, found this one for her, and she, along with many other racing fans, has no problem believing this is no mere coincidence.
