Well, the Queen Mother has been honoured, and she now lays beside her beloved husband. The republican critics in the media be damned, the country still loves its monarchy. The results are not in, but it is estimated that the crowds today were more than those who watched the coffin arrive at Westminster Hall. The Queen Mother was as much a part of history as she was a person. The former is dead; the latter will remain in the hearts and the minds of the British people. She embodies all that is British. I believe that the outpouring of genuine sadness and tribute will do more to bring this nation together than anything cooked up by Blair & Co.

I defy anyone not to have had a lump in their throat when the Lancaster Bomber, Spitfire (Marine), and Hurricane flew over London. Their powerful engines could be heard all over the mostly silent London. It was quite a sight; one that I will never forget.
