Christopher Montgomery has written a very interesting piece on the EU. He believes that it would be a good idea if the EU were to go ahead with their master plan. There is one caveat, however; Britain should stay out of it. I used to think the the job of the Eurosceptic movement was to prevent the entire continent from going down this disasterous road. I have mellowed with a bit of age; I now believe the continent can do whatever they want, as long as we prevent the UK from being in the middle of it.
Thanks to Unqualified Offerings for the link to this interesting piece.

Hawkgirl and David Carr both take that oik Romano Prodi to task for asinine comments about Britiain’s relationship with the EU. Romano, in his brilliance, has shown a breathtaking lack of understanding of the British mentality. He seems to unaware of this country’s history or culture. As a Eurosceptic, it pleases me greatly to see Euro-pinheads like Prodi putting their foot in it. The EU is truely their own worst enemy, and long may it be thus.

Rat’s Nest has posted a few ponderances on the behaviour of the Greeks regarding the planespotters. He makes several good points, and it is well worth the read. His is right; Greece is not a “first-world nation”. So why are they in the EU? If the Greeks, as backward as they are, can be in the EU, why not Turkey?

A Snicker From The Den….....
MommaBear has a cousin in Vermont, a rough, gruff Bear, who sends her goodies from time to time; here is his latest:
I THINK I USED TO WORK FOR SUCH AN ORGANIZATION….
A major research institution has recently announced the discovery of the heaviest element yet known to science. This new element has been tentatively named “Administratium.” Administratium has 1 neutron, 12 assistant neutrons, 75 deputy neutrons, and 111 assistant deputy neutrons, giving it an atomic mass of 312. These 312 particles are held together by a force called morons, which are surrounded by vast quantities of lepton-like particles called peons. Since Administratium has no electrons, it is inert.
However, it can be detected, as it impedes every reaction with which it comes into contact. A minute amount of Administratium causes one reaction to take over four days to complete when it would normally take less than a second.
Administratium has a normal half-life of three years; it does not decay but instead undergoes a reorganization. In fact, Administratium’s mass will actually increase over time, since each reorganization causes some morons to become neutrons forming isodopes. This characteristic of moron-promotion leads some scientists to speculate that Administratium is formed whenever morons reach a certain quantity in concentration. This hypothetical quantity is referred to as “Critical Morass.”
You will know it when you see it…

Adil has yet another long post about life in the Muslim world. This time he features the thoughts of a Westerner who recently left Saudi Arabia. It makes for some pretty eye-opening reading, and conditions seem to be getting worse.

A Smile From The Den….....
MommaBear is delighted that she can show proof that at least the libertarian spirit is thriving in the Animal Kingdom, complete with calculated use of the free-market economy model. Via Ananova, this tidbit delineates some recent research on the topic.

How Le Pen can Win is an interesting analysis of the chances for the NF leader. It is not the done deal that Euro-elites can be heard claiming. It will be interesting to see if Martin Sieff is right in his analysis. Thanks to Briffa for pointing this out.

There is a new blog in blogdom; Freedom & Whisky is a new libertarian Scottish blog. I have met libertarians in Scotland. I spoke to a few at the “Tuesday Club” in Edinburgh. It will be very interesting to see what his take is on relations between Scotia and Albion.

It pains me greatly to see some of the great blogs ceasing to be of late. In order to preserve the presence of some of the leading lights of this wonderful genre, Dodgeblog is extending an invitation to any former or wanna-be blogger who wishes to join our merry brood. Dodgeblog wants you!

The Bitch Chronicles has lost part of her innocence; Dodgeblog was the first to blogroll her. We are pleased to be her first; good thing DtD didn’t do it first, or she would really be in trouble.

New libertarian writer out there on a blog called Writer of Fortune. Thanks to Unqualified Offerings for pointing out this new addition to blogdom. I expect great things from Bruce Baugh, if the stuff on there now is anything to go by.

Your host had an interesting encounter with a Frenchman last night. A so-called libertarian, whom I normally find agreable (hence no name), made some vile comments about 9/11. It was “a minor incident”, “an insignificant event”, ” it was blown out of all proportion by them”, “only 3500 Americans were killed, so what” according to this intelligent Frenchman. Who this “them” is, I am not quite sure. I suspect since Palestine was brought soon thereafter, it was the “Jews”.
He was appalled that I suggested that if something nasty (like a nuke or biological attack) happens in the US, perpetrated by Al Queda or Islamic terrorists, that we should bomb Saudi to glass. This was despite the fact that I, and others, reminded him that almost all the 9/11 types were Saudi and a large part of Al Quada funding came from Saudi. In short, this gentleman does not believe the US has a right to defend itself against terrorist attacks.
Is it just the French mentality? Are they inherently anti-American, anti-Isreal/Jew and believe in moral relativism? It was a most distressing encounter and one I shan’t forget in a long time. I wonder if they dropped a few planes or a nuke into the middle of Paris if he would feel the same way? And for that matter, would anyone else even care?

The Ulrika and Sven show is over and all I can say, who gives a shit? No doubt the story was wheeled out by Alaister Campbell to remove attention from Gordon Brown’s criminal budget. He must have enjoyed the distraction of the David Beckham ankle breakage. It seems Labour likes to have these “mountain out of molehill” stories in the press and people like Max Clifford are only happy to oblige. It is a very sad state of affairs.

Another nail in the coffin of the British wanting to move further into the EU. The Greeks have jailed 12 British plane-spotters for spying. It does not seem to bother the Greeks that all the information they were “collecting” is in the public domain. If you were going to spy on someone, would your first choice be the Greeks? Someone needs to remind them that the British are not the enemy; it’s Arab terrorists. Of course, this is the country that has not managed to solve the murder of a British official in the country or catch any members of November 17.
One wonders whether a country can be expelled from the EU for gross stupidity? Comments are off for this post85038416
From the totally fu…um you couldn’t make this one up file. It seems that Apple promotes Darwinism and Communism, well, at least according to this loon. Apple’s sin is what, you ask? The underlying element to OSX is called Darwin, thus the company is evolutionist propagandists. It’s guys like Dr. Richard Paley that remind me how much a pity it is that mental asylums no longer exist in the US. Oh yeah, Apple is a cult as well. We must all hope that for the sake of his remaining sanity, Dr Paley does not see this. Thanks to The Register for pointing me this religious loon.

My new mucker Iain Murray has a long and interesting post about Le Pen. He first quotes Dan Hannan MEP on his observation about the reaction in the European Parliament, and then a friend of his. They both have the same to say: it is the fault of the political elites in Europe that continue to ignore their people and proceed no matter what. The French, like the Austrians, realised that the only way to get their leaders’ attention was to vote for someone from the “far” right. Only then do the elites take notice.

The Spectator this week contains a very interesting interview with “Pepe” Le Pen. It is worth a read if only to hear what the bloke really has to say instead of the fabrications of the media. For instance, the man fought in the resistance, not exactly what you would expect for a “Nazi”.

Joe has gotten interested in my exchange with Goldstein about this noxious post by Iain Dale. The subject is, of course, Israel and the Palestinians. Expect Yourish and maybe Kesher to wade in on the subject. Thanks to Emmanuel for taking up my post and looking at it in his usual erudite way. The title of the post, Collective Guilt – a dodgy concept rocks as well.

The Jerusalem Post contains an excellent article on Blair and his country’s relationship with Israel. The conclusion that much of anti-Israel sentiment is fueled by left-wing bias and not anti-semitism is spot on as far as I am concerned.

Boris Johnson has lent his keyboard to the developments in France and Le Pen. He wonders aloud what all the fuss is about really. The magazine he edits The Spectator has just published (today) an interview with the bete noir of the entire European continent, Le Pen, which he claims shows the man to be a loon.

It is with great sorrow that I have learned Andrew Rosindell MP’s dog Spike died on St George’s day (yesterday). As a dog lover I feel for Andrew and mourn his loss with him. Spike could not have died on a more appropriate day. Long may he be remembered; England has lost one of her canine best.

It is great to see that France is in chaos as they find out that Le Pen has gotten a close second in the first round of the Presidential election. In typical style, the left, who have gotten their doors blown off, are asking for them to be united. Expect rioting on the streets and France in a turmoil. France in chaos is good for Britain and bad for the EU! England could not have imagined such a wonderful St. Georges’ Day present.
And to those who think I am cheering a racist, I ask you this. If the man is so bad how come major Jewish organisations in France have come out in support for him? I suspect that Jospin will blame the Jews for his demise; it will be interesting to see how exactly he makes the point.
So without further ado: Vive Le Pen!

A gentleman by the name of Antoine has set me straight vis-a-vis the Le Pen quote.
“You wrote concerning Le Pen:
<<
He did call the Holocaust a “figment of history”, a quote which I would like to see in French to make sure.
That’s not exactly correct. He wasn’t speaking of the Holocaust (which apparently he doesn’t deny took place), but rather he was questioning the existence of Nazi gas chambers, which he said were “a point of detail of the
second world war” (“un point de dtail de la seconde guerre mondiale”). The following article from “Monde Diplomatique” has more quotes by Le Pen on this, as well as some background:
The original French version:
http://www.monde-diplomatique.fr/1998/05/IGOUNET/10463
The English translation:
http://mondediplo.com/1998/05/08igou”
Thank you again for this clarification. I do appreciate my attentive readers.
